LAST UPDATED 26 SEPTEMBER 2026 · APPLIES TO LOOPBOARD 1.0.0
The short version. LoopBoard is free desktop software made by one person. Your boards stay on your computer and are never sent anywhere. Software can fail, so keep your own copies of anything you care about. You are responsible for what you import, download and record with it, and for having the right to use it. It comes with no warranty. Indian law applies. The full text below is what actually governs.
What changed on 26 September 2026. These terms now apply to LoopBoard 1.0, which is no longer a beta release. Section 3 no longer describes LoopBoard as beta software but keeps every warning about bugs and data loss. Sections 7 and 8 now cover file cards, which link to other files on your computer. Section 16 no longer refers to version 0.9.0. Section 17 now explains that uninstalling a Microsoft Store copy may not remove everything if you used the .exe version before.
What changed on 23 September 2026. LoopBoard is now distributed through the Microsoft Store. Section 16 now says so. Section 5 now refers to this website instead of our download page, and section 17 now refers to copies installed with the .exe installer instead of copies installed from this website.
What changed on 19 September 2026. Added terms for copies of LoopBoard installed from the Microsoft Store, in sections 1, 5, 16, 17 and 20. Nothing changed for copies installed from this website.
LoopBoard is made and distributed by Rayyan Burondkar, an individual trading as LoopBoard, of Dapoli, District Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, India (“we”, “us”, “the developer”). On the Microsoft Store, LoopBoard is published under the publisher name Artris, which is the same individual. These terms are an agreement between you and that individual. A postal address will be supplied on request to anyone who needs it for a legal or regulatory purpose.
You can reach us at contact@theloopboard.com.
By downloading, installing or using LoopBoard you accept these terms, together with the Copyright and acceptable use page, which forms part of them. If you do not accept them, do not install the software, and uninstall it if you already have.
Age. You must be at least 18 years old to accept these terms on your own behalf. If you are under 18, you may use LoopBoard only if a parent or legal guardian has read these terms and accepts them on your behalf, and they remain responsible for your use of it. LoopBoard is not intended for or directed at children under 13.
LoopBoard is made by one person. In plain terms:
.loopboard file created by one version may not open correctly in another.Keep your own copies of anything important. LoopBoard is a place to collect and arrange references. It is not a backup system and must not be relied on as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
LoopBoard is free to download and use, for personal or commercial work. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and run it on computers you own or control, subject to these terms.
LoopBoard is closed source. Its own source code is not published, and this licence gives you no rights to it. That is separate from the open-source components LoopBoard bundles, which carry their own licences and their own rights. See the licenses page.
We reserve every right not expressly granted here.
You may not:
Nothing here restricts what the licences of the bundled open-source components allow you to do with those components. Where this section and one of those licences conflict, that licence wins for that component.
Anything you create, import, record or arrange in LoopBoard, including boards, images, video, audio, notes, drawings and recordings, belongs to you, or to whoever already owned it. We claim no rights over it whatsoever.
We also never receive it. LoopBoard stores everything locally on your own computer. There is no account, no sync and no upload. We have no technical ability to see, access or recover your boards. This is a design decision, and the practical consequence is worth stating plainly: if you lose your files, we cannot restore them for you.
LoopBoard can bring in material from outside your computer. It can import local files, add file cards that link to other files on your computer, import images dragged from web pages, download video and audio from links you provide, and record your screen and microphone.
You are solely responsible for everything you bring in this way, and for having the right to do so. The Copyright and acceptable use page sets this out in full, including what the software deliberately cannot do, what uses are prohibited, and what applies when you share a board file with someone else. It is part of these terms and you should read it.
In summary: most material online is protected; personal or reference use is not automatically permitted; a site’s own terms apply separately from copyright; licensed material usually comes with conditions on passing it on; and recording other people may require their consent. LoopBoard gives you a downloader and a recorder. It does not and cannot judge whether a particular use is lawful. We do not host, transmit, store or see any of the material you handle with it.
A .loopboard file is a package containing someone else’s board and its media. LoopBoard performs structural checks on such a package before opening it and refuses packages it cannot read as valid.
Those checks are a defence against malformed and malicious files, not a guarantee of safety, and we give no warranty that they will detect any particular threat. A shared board file is a file from an outside source and should be treated like any other. Open board files only from people you trust.
Files that file cards point to are not included in a shared board. Opening a file card asks Windows to open that file in its usual app, so only open file cards for files you trust.
Some features work by contacting websites you have pointed LoopBoard at, such as fetching a link preview, or downloading from a link you pasted. Those websites are not ours, we do not control them, and your dealings with them are governed by their terms and their privacy policies, not ours.
We do not warrant that any such feature will work with any particular website, or will keep working. Websites change, and the third-party components these features rely on change with them.
LoopBoard includes open-source components made by other people, including FFmpeg, yt-dlp, Electron, Chromium and a number of libraries. They are provided under their own licences, by their own authors, and not by us.
Full details, licence texts and source-code availability are on the licenses page. Those licences apply to those components in addition to these terms and, where they conflict, instead of them.
If you send us a suggestion, feature request, bug report or other feedback, you agree we may use it freely to improve LoopBoard, without obligation, attribution or payment to you, and you do not acquire any interest in LoopBoard by doing so. You keep whatever rights you already had in anything you send; this section simply means we can act on an idea you gave us.
Please do not send us anything confidential. We have no way to treat it as such.
LoopBoard is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that defects will be corrected.
We do not warrant that LoopBoard will work with any particular hardware, operating system, driver, file format or website, or that features depending on external services will keep working.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of work, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising from or connected to your use of or inability to use LoopBoard, even if we have been told such damage is possible.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for LoopBoard (which for the free version is zero) or INR 1,000.
This section does not limit anything that cannot lawfully be limited. In particular, nothing here excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable law that cannot be waived by agreement.
If you use LoopBoard in breach of these terms or of the Copyright and acceptable use page, or unlawfully, and a third party brings a claim against us because of it, you agree to indemnify us against that claim. This means you will cover the damages, losses, liabilities and reasonable legal costs we incur as a result.
This applies only to claims arising from your breach or unlawful use. It does not apply to claims arising from our own acts or omissions, from a defect in the software, or from anything we are responsible for. We will tell you promptly about any claim we intend to rely on this section for, will not settle it without asking you first, and will give you a reasonable opportunity to take part in the defence.
Nothing in this section affects any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement.
LoopBoard is free today, and a free version will always exist.
We may in future offer optional paid features, for example a premium tier with additional capabilities, or optional cloud storage and sync. If we do:
LoopBoard does not update itself. Later versions may include an update mechanism; if so, it will be described at the point it is introduced and you will be able to control it. LoopBoard is currently distributed through the Microsoft Store. Copies installed with the earlier .exe installer, downloaded from this website or a GitHub release, keep working as they are; to get the latest version, install it from the Microsoft Store.
Microsoft Store copies. If you installed LoopBoard from the Microsoft Store, it is updated by the Microsoft Store and Windows, according to your Store and Windows update settings, not by LoopBoard itself.
We may change, suspend or discontinue LoopBoard, or any part of it, at any time. Software already installed on your computer will keep working as it is. We have no ability to disable it remotely and no wish to.
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling LoopBoard.
If you installed LoopBoard with the .exe installer, uninstalling removes the program. It does not automatically remove your boards and media, which live in your user data folder. See the Privacy Policy for the exact path and how to delete them yourself.
If you installed LoopBoard from the Microsoft Store, uninstalling it normally also deletes the boards and media it stored. Windows normally removes a Store app’s data together with the app. If you used the .exe version on the same computer before, some data may remain in %APPDATA%\LoopBoard, including boards the Store version saved into the database the .exe version created. Do not rely on uninstalling to either keep or delete your boards. Before you uninstall, export any board you want to keep as a .loopboard file and save it somewhere outside LoopBoard.
Files that file cards point to are your own files elsewhere on your computer. Uninstalling LoopBoard never deletes them, and they are not included in an exported board.
Your licence ends automatically if you materially breach these terms. Sections 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18 and 19 survive the end of this agreement.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the consumer-rights carve-out in section 13, the courts at Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or connected with these terms or with LoopBoard.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection provision of the law where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings in your local courts where that law gives it to you.
Time limit. Any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or to LoopBoard must be brought within one year of the date it arose, except where a longer period is required by law that cannot be varied by agreement.
We may update these terms. When we do, the “last updated” date at the top changes, and the current version is always the one published at this address.
Material changes will be noted on this page. Continuing to use LoopBoard after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall the software.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force and that provision is limited to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
You may not assign or transfer these terms. We may assign them to a successor to the LoopBoard project, on notice published at this address.
These terms, together with the Copyright and acceptable use page, the Privacy Policy and the Licenses page, are the entire agreement between you and us about LoopBoard. If you obtained LoopBoard from the Microsoft Store, the Microsoft Standard Application License Terms also apply; where they and these terms address the same subject, these terms add to them to the extent those license terms allow.
